Maria B. Carrillo née Fonseca, 69, of Blue Island, passed from this life on June 30, 2026.

Maria is the beloved wife of the late Jose A. Carrillo, who passed away on October 27, 2024. Together they shared forty-four years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and love. Maria is the devoted mother of Joseph (Nancy Febles), Kathleen Alba-Briones, Michael (Aziza Amiri), and Daniel. She is the loving grandmother of Sarah, Laura, Maya, Norah, Alejandro, Vanessa, Isaaq, and Neela. Maria is the cherished sister of Alicia Yepez, Ana Yepez, and Rosa Elena Fonseca. She is a dear aunt to many nieces and nephews and leaves many other extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Maria was born on October 9, 1956 in Guadalajara, Mexico to the late Margarita Fonseca. She dedicated many years of service to education, working as a Home School Coordinator for School District 132 and also as a paraprofessional teacher's aide for School District 130. Through her work, Maria touched the lives of countless students and families with her kindness, compassion, and unwavering commitment.

A woman of deep faith, Maria was a devoted member of St. Benedict Church. She faithfully served her parish as secretary for the CCD program and also as President of the Hispanic Committee, always giving generously of her time and talents. Her dedication to her church reflected her lifelong commitment to serving God and others. Above all else, Maria cherished her family. She found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved and was always ready to offer encouragement, support, and a warm smile.

Visitation for Maria will be held on Monday, July 6th from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Avenue, Blue Island. Chapel prayers will begin Tuesday at 9:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Benedict Church, 2339 York Street, Blue Island. Interment will follow at St. Benedict Cemetery in Crestwood, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Jose.
