Solvig Robertson Obituary
Solvig Robertson (née Jonsson), age 89, of Blue Island, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 29, 2026.
Born in Sweden on July 21, 1936, Solvig immigrated to the United States in her late twenties, where she made her home for the remainder of her life.
Solvig was the beloved wife of Harry G. Robertson, who preceded her in death on November 23, 2021. They were united in marriage on March 19, 1977. She was the dear sister of the late Sven Jonsson and the late Nils Jonsson.
Solvig enjoyed a successful career as an accountant in the railroad equipment industry. She was also the President of K&E Tools in Chicago which supplied the railroad industry. Solvig and Harry traveled internationally for work and pleasure. She was also a longtime active member of the Union League Club of Chicago, where she was a dedicated supporter of the Union League Boys & Girls Clubs. In 2023, Solvig was honored for helping create the Union League Club's iconic Annual Fashion Show, a legacy that continues to benefit the organization's charitable mission.
Solvig will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her, including her cherished Siamese cat.
Visitation for Solvig will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Avenue, Blue Island. A private burial will follow at Mt. Greenwood Cemetery.
