Carol A. Velez (née Henneberg), age 79, of Blue Island, passed from this life on June 25, 2026.

Carol was born on February 7, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Carl and the late Harriet Henneberg. She is the beloved wife of John F. Velez, with whom she shared thirty-seven wonderful years of marriage.

She is the cherished mother of Frank S. (Charlotte) and Donald Roy Welch, and the proud grandmother of two. Carol is the loving sister of the late Donald, Kenny, and Ronnie Henneberg and a dear aunt to Valerie (Creig) Carr and Donald Henneberg Jr.  She leaves behind many other dear family members and friends to cherish her memory.

Visitation for Carol will be held on Thursday, July 2, from 10:00 AM until the time of funeral service at 11:00 AM at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Avenue, Blue Island. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery in Oak Lawn, Illinois.

Carol will be remembered for her love of family, her kind heart, and the many cherished memories she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
