Carmen S. Zuniga, age 56, of Posen, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026.

Carmen was born on August 18, 1969, in Blue Island.  She is the cherished daughter of Alma Zuniga and the late Rafael Zuniga Sr. Carmen is the beloved sister of Rafael Zuniga Jr. and the loving aunt of Kenethia Zuniga. For more than twenty years, Carmen shared a loving relationship with Lorenzo Gonzalez, who remained a constant source of love and support throughout her life. She also leaves behind many dear relatives and friends who will cherish her memory and miss her deeply.

Carmen was a strong-willed woman whose unwavering devotion to those she loved defined her life. She was truly the best daughter Alma could have asked for, and the bond they shared was one of love, strength, and mutual devotion. Carmen also shared a very special relationship with her niece, Keneathia, whom she loved dearly. 

Carmen loved baking cookies for family and friends and had a deep appreciation for music, especially R&B and House music. Her warmth, loyalty, and generous spirit made lasting impressions on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

For nearly thirty years, Carmen dedicated herself to her career as a loan officer at George Washington Savings and Loan, which later became Huntington Bank. Throughout her years of service, she built relationships with coworkers and customers alike, earning their respect and friendship through her kindness, professionalism, and commitment.

Though her presence will be greatly missed, may her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.

Visitation for Carmen will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a funeral service beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Avenue, Blue Island, Illinois.  Cremation is private.
