Damiana Curiel (née Ramos), age 67, of Blue Island, passed away suddenly on May 26, 2026.
Damiana was born on June 16, 1958, in Mexico to the late Antonio and the late Gregoria Ramos. She is the beloved wife of Pedro Curiel, they have been united in marriage for forty-five years. Damiana is the cherished mother of six children: Juan C., Marvin, Nestor (Amy), Eric, Clarivel, and Anthony. She is the proud grandmother of Wyatt R. and Florence J. Damiana was the dear sister of 12 siblings, with six preceding her in death. She is survived by Ana Ramos, Jose A. Ramos, Juan Ramos, Alejandro Ramos, Rufino Ramos, and Ruben Ramos. Damiana is also a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. She leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
Damiana dedicated her life to creating a warm and caring home for her family. She found great joy in caring for her children and grandchildren, always making sure those around her were supported, comforted, and loved. She especially enjoyed cooking for her loved ones and bringing family together around the table to share meals, laughter, and cherished memories. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, and she took immense pride in keeping her family close. The love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation for Damiana will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Ave, Blue Island, IL. Chapel prayers will begin Tuesday at 9:00 AM at the Krueger Funeral Home, then to St. Benedict Church/St. Mary Magdalene Parish, 2339 York St., Blue Island for Holy Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Casimir Cemetery in Chicago. Donations to the family are greatly appreciated during this difficult time.
