Carol A. Lovrich (née Soehnholz), 87, of Blue Island, passed from this life on April 20, 2026.

Carol was born on July 13, 1938, in Harvey, IL to the late Walter and the late Lucille Soehnholz. She is the loving mother to Joseph S., Debra A. (Howard) Lietz, Richard M. (Aimee), Lisa M. (Raymond) Wilke, Matthew S. (Peggy), and Mark W. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Lori J. (Terry) Murphy.  Carol is the cherished grandmother to Jennifer, Joseph Jr., Amanda, Michael, Andrew, Adam (Helen), Daniel (Clara), Richard, Eric, Jordan (Chelsie), Brandi (Nick), Raymond, Michael (Ashley), Matthew, Kaitlin (Woj), and Matthew Jr., and a proud great-grandmother to many who brought her endless joy.  Carol was also preceded in death by her siblings Betty, Walter, Henry, Barbara, and Shirley.  She leaves many other family members and friends to cherish her memory.

Carol worked as an Ornamental Ironworker and took great pride in her craft. Outside of work, she had a vibrant personality and a wide range of interests. She had a special fondness for strawberries and delighted in collecting strawberry-themed items—her home was filled with treasures, including many strawberry cookie jars. She was a devoted fan of Elvis Presley and proudly owned three of his scarves. She was also a long time avid Chicago Cubs fan.  Carol enjoyed spending her time browsing garage sales in search of unique finds, playing the slot machines at the local casino, and relaxing at home while working on puzzles.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation for Carol will be held on Friday, April 24th, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Ave, Blue Island. Saturday, April 25th, visitation will continue from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow immediately at First Lutheran Cemetery in Alsip.
