Juan Carlos Fernandez, 41, of Midlothian, passed away suddenly on April 11, 2026, leaving his family and loved ones heartbroken.

Juan Carlos was born on February 18, 1985, in Atlixco, Puebla, Mexico, to his loving parents, Juan M. and Margarita Fernandez (née Romero).  

Juan Carlos is the beloved husband of Djana F. Fernandez (née Aguilar), whom he met while attending Oak Forest High School. Their love grew into a lifelong partnership rooted in devotion, support, and family. He is the proud and dedicated father to his cherished children, Victoria M. and Leonardo, who meant everything to him.  Juan Carlos is also survived by Mayra (Marco) Flores and Esther Aguilar, who were raised alongside him and shared a lifelong bond.  He is now reunited with his lifelong companion, his dog Nala.  Juan Carlos had a deep love for his family and his heritage which he carried with him throughout his life.

From an early age, Juan Carlos developed a passion for vehicles, beginning with his treasured HotWheels cars. That passion led him to pursue a career in the diesel field. After high school, Juan Carlos attended and graduated from Universal Technical Institute (UTI). Through hard work, determination, and pride in his craft, he built a meaningful and respected career. Juan Carlos was a dedicated member of Local 701, where he rose to become a foreman in the diesel union. He took great pride in being a laborer and in contributing to the strength, unity, and brotherhood of his union.

Juan Carlos will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his deep love for his family, and the kindness and warmth he shared with everyone around him. His sudden passing leaves a profound void, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation for Juan Carlos will be held on Wednesday, April 15th, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with a funeral service at 5:30 PM at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Ave, Blue Island.

Donations to the family are greatly appreciated during this unexpected and difficult time.
