Mary Ann Wasniewski (née Murawski), 83, of Blue Island, passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, January 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born on April 2, 1942, in Chicago to the late Casimir and the late Regina Murawski. Mary Ann was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth E. Wasniewski, with whom she shared a devoted and loving marriage after being united on February 24, 1962.  She is the loving mother of Kenneth J. (Lydia), Kathleen Luety, and Karen (Thomas). Mary Ann is the devoted and proud grandmother of Albert Hoffmann and Jeffrey Hoffmann, as well as her treasured grand dogs, Sally and Lucy.  She was preceded in death by her dear sister Theresa (the late Jose).  Mary Ann also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Family time was especially meaningful to Mary Ann, whether gathered around the table or enjoying simple moments together. She expressed her love through the meals she prepared, the time she spent with her family, and the countless quiet acts of care that defined her life. In her spare time, she found comfort and happiness in crocheting and working on puzzles of all kinds, especially word finds—activities she often enjoyed while being close to those she loved. A woman of strong and steady faith, Mary Ann was a longtime and faithful member of St. Christina Parish. Her faith was an important foundation in her life and a source of strength for her family.

Visitation for Mary Ann will be held Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with the funeral service taking place at 6:30 p.m. at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Ave, Blue Island. Cremation is private.
