Nancy McCord Bronson, age 90, of Palos Park, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026.

Nancy was born on July 20, 1935, in Blue Island, Illinois, to the late Leslie and the late Priscilla McCord. She is the beloved wife of James U. Bronson, Jr., with whom she was united in marriage for seventy years.

Nancy is the loving mother to Jean L. Wilson, James U. Bronson III (Anne), and Bruce S. Bronson (Dawn). She is the cherished grandmother to Kathleen Wilson, Jennifer Wilson, Sarah Evans (Jared), Jonathan Bronson (Elizabeth), Kellie Wickett (Daniel), Emily Bronson, and Olivia Bronson, and a proud great-grandmother to Ethan Evans, Colin Evans, and Theodore Wickett.  She was preceded in death by her brother John McCord (the late Ginny). Nancy is also survived by many other family members and friends who will fondly remember her.

Nancy attended the University of Illinois, where she was a cheerleader and a proud member of the Chi Omega sorority.  She formed lifelong friendships and embraced the school spirit that remained a source of joy throughout her life. Nancy often spoke fondly of her time in Champaign-Urbana, treasuring the memories, camaraderie, and experiences that shaped her young adulthood and laid the foundation for her love of community and connection.

Nancy was also a longtime member of Midlothian Country Club, where she enjoyed countless days participating in club activities, or simply enjoying time spent together with her friends. Nancy valued the many lasting relationships she built over the years she spent at the club.

Visitation for Nancy will be held on Wednesday, January 21st, from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM, at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Interment will follow at Mt. Greenwood Cemetery, Chicago.
