Silvestre Carmona, age 91, of Markham, passed from this life peacefully at home on December 31, 2025.
He was born on December 31, 1934, in Mexico to the late Leonor and the late Reyes Carmona. Silvestre was the beloved husband of Ernestina Carmona (née Ochoa), who preceded him in death on April 1, 2009. He is the loving father to Octavio Carmona, Leonor Elena (the late Arturo) Lozano, Rita Isela (the late Carlos) Avitia, and Maria Ernestina (Jose) Garcia.
He is the cherished grandfather of Octavio, Claudia, Liliana, Arturo, Jessica, Larissa, Carlos A., Karina, Carolina, Jose R., and Oralia, and the proud great-grandfather of Jace Flores. Silvestre is the dear brother of nine siblings and is especially loved by his in-laws and extended family. He is also a fond uncle to many nieces and nephews and leaves behind many other family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
In Mexico, Silvestre was a hardworking livestock rancher, a way of life that reflected his strong work ethic, dedication to family, and deep connection to the land.
Visitation for Silvestre will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Tuesday, January 6th, Chapel Prayers will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by procession to St. Augustine Church, 4130 147th St., Midlothian, IL, for Holy Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Beverly Cemetery, Blue Island.
