Phyllis L. Clinton (née Dahl), affectionately known as "Peany," age 98, formerly of Blue Island, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025. Born in Blue Island on July 10, 1927, Phyllis lived a full and loving life centered around faith, family, and community.
She was the beloved wife of the late Melvin E. Clinton, who preceded her in death on October 7, 1992. Together, they shared many wonderful years and created a loving family together.
Phyllis was the loving mother of Neal (Patricia) Clinton and Jane (Wesley) Marlor; cherished grandmother of Jennifer Clinton, Patrick (Carey) Clinton, Sarah (Tony) Hu, Rebecca (Scott) Brust, and JoEllen Marlor; and proud great-grandmother of Lucas Clinton, Caleb Clinton, Amelia Clinton, Audrey Hu, Cameron Hu, and Evelyn Brust. Her family was her greatest joy, and her memory will live on through each of them.
She is also survived by her dear brother, Clifford Dahl, and was preceded in death by her siblings Evelyn Reeves, Ruth Peetz, Kenneth Dahl, Eileen Bartels, and Irene Dickelman. Phyllis leaves many other family members and friends to cherish her memory.
Phyllis devoted 27 years of service to St. Francis Hospital, where her compassion and dedication touched the lives of many. A woman of strong faith, she was an active member of Ev. Community Church of Blue Island, where she found community and purpose throughout her life.
Phyllis had a kind heart not only for people but also for animals, and she leaves behind her loyal canine companions, Buddy Boy, Joy, and Hudson, who brought her great comfort and joy.
Visitation for Phyllis will be held on Friday, October 17 from 10:00 AM until the time of funeral service at 11:00 AM at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens South, Oak Lawn, IL.
