Theresa A. Sobolewski (née Smyrock), of Frankfort, IL, passed from this life on August 22, 2025, at the age of 92.

Theresa was born on February 12, 1933 to the late Sigmund and the late Mary Smyrock in Chicago, IL.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Sobolewski, who passed away in 1967. The couple were united in marriage for 14 years.

Theresa is the loving mother of the late David (Cindy) Sobolewski, the late Edward Sobolewski, Jean McLaughlin, and Ann (Tim) McMurray.  She is the cherished grandmother of Dylan McMurray, Benjamin McMurray, Melissa (Adam) Maze, Kyle McLaughlin, Doug (Becca) McLaughlin, Noah Sobolewski, Olivia Sobolewski, and Steven (Jaimie) Sobolewski.  Theresa is the proud great-grandmother of Adrianna, Elizabeth, Matthew, Kaitlynn, Hunter, Sophia, Quinn, Casey, and Emma.  She is the dear sister of the late Mary Ann (the late Anthony) D’Antonio, Sigmund “Bud” (Nancy) Smyrock, Charles “Chuck” (Dominque) Smyrock, and the late Raymond Smyrock.   Theresa is the fond aunt of many nieces and nephews and a sweet friend to many who will always hold her memory close. 

Theresa loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed dancing the Polka, singing in the church choir, crocheting, gardening, taking care of her birds, excessive shopping for groceries, cooking, and baking for those she loved. Most recognized for her apple pie, potato salad, and her need for decaf coffee. And, we must not forget her love of Willie Nelson and Elvis Presley. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Visitation for Theresa will take place at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Avenue, Blue Island, IL on Friday, September 5th from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. Burial is private.
