Obituary of Vera A. Christian

Vera A. Christian, 83, of Alsip, Illinois, passed from this life on Monday, February 10, 2025. 

Vera was born on July 20, 1941 in Harvey, Illinois to the late Michael C. and the late Irene C. Christian (née Tury).  She lived a life full of creativity, passion, and warmth. She had an appreciation for classical music and spent many cherished evenings attending concerts with her closest friends. Her love of the arts extended beyond music to the written word. Vera was also an extraordinary seamstress, creating her own clothes and crafting beautiful pieces that showcased her talent. 

Known for her vivacious and eccentric spirit, Vera was a lively presence wherever she went. She was able to make everyone feel at ease with her friendly, approachable nature and she was always engaged and present. Her life was rich with friendship, and a continual zest for life.

Vera was preceded in death by her brother Michael J. and his wife Lucille.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her for her energy, her warmth, and her boundless passion for the things that made her happiest.

A funeral mass will be held for Vera on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Walter Church, 11745 S. Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60643.

Interment is private.
