Obituary of Diane J. Palagi

Diane J. Palagi nee Sanderson, 68, of Galena, IL, formerly of Chicago passed from this life Monday, November 4, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

 

Diane is the beloved wife of Robert G. Palagi. The couple were united in marriage on July 31, 1971. She is the loving mother of  Melissa (David) Allsop of St. Charles, MO and Jason (Patricia Perry) of Goreville, IL. Diane is the cherished grandmother of  Joel David Allsop, Hayley (Cody) Hastings and Rayana Hammersley. She is the dear sister of  Edward (Donna) Sanderson, Jeanine Perry,  Deborah Paruszkiewicz, Brian (Karen) Sanderson and Thomas (Jovita) Sanderson and the fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Diane leaves many other family members and friends to cherish her memory.

  

Diane was born December 17, 1950, in Chicago to the late Mary Grace nee Hunt and Thomas J. Sanderson. She was raised in the Village of Calumet Park and attended Seven Holy Founders Grade School and Eisenhower High School. Diane was formerly employed by St. Francis Hospital. She was an avid genealogist for the past 35 years. Diane transcribed the early church records for St. Michael’s and St. Mary’s Catholic Churches of Galena which are available at the Galena Public Library.  She also enjoyed reading and doing puzzles with Bob.

 

Visitation for Diane will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Chapel prayers will begin Thursday at 9:00 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave.,  Blue Island,  then to St. Benedict Church, 2339 York St., Blue Island for mass at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip.
