Obituary of Marks "Speedy" Hernandez

Marks "Speedy Gonzalez" Hernandez, 85, of Blue Island, passed from this life Friday, August 9, 2019.

Marks is the beloved husband of  Teresa Villanueva Hernandez for sixty-one years. He is the loving father of the late Pilar Jauch , the late Theresa Botkin-Pasternak ,  Marks (Irma) Hernandez II and Peter Hernandez. Marks is the devoted grandfather of Jessica (Robert) Ruiz, Erica Jauch, Brian Jauch, Lisa (Todd) Stanford, William Botkin Jr, Brittany Pasternak, Brianna Hernandez, Sabrina Hernandez, Mathew Hernandez, and Andrew Hernandez, he is the proud great grandfather of fourteen. Marks is the dear brother of the late Andy Hernandez, the late Francis Hernandez, the late John Hernandez, the late Guadalupe Hernandez, the late Audencio Hernandez, the late Sofia Hernandez, Alfred Hernandez, Philip (Theresa) Hernandez and Jennie (Jesus) Peralta Hernandez. He is the dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Marks was born April 25, 1934 in Riverdale, Illinois to the late Audelia Gonzalez and the late Pedro Hernandez. He was known for his love of racing and ability to be the funniest man in the room. Marks will be missed by all of his relatives and family friends.

Visitation for Marks will be held Monday, August 12, 2019 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Chapel prayers will begin Tuesday at 9:00 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island, then to St. Donatus Church, 1939 Union St., Blue Island, for mass at 10:00 am. Cremation will be private.
