Obituary of William A. Dokey

William A. Dokey, 81, of Blue Island, passed from this life Saturday, June 8, 2019. He is the beloved husband of Bonita A. nee Blais. The couple were united in marriage in 1972.  Bill is the loving step-father of Loretta (Will) Oliphant, Dennis Schuemann and Nanci (Frank) Pignotti. He is the loving step-grandfather of Davio, Meggan, Alec, Samuel, Abigail and Michael and step-great grandfather of Lealynn. Bill is the dear brother of  Merrilee Temple, Frederick Dokey and the late Richard Dokey.

William was born March 13, 1938 in New Carlisle, Indiana to the late Leona Harriet nee Aiken and Richard Leo Dokey. He has resided in Blue Island since 1972. Bill is a United States Army veteran and a retired pipefitter. Known to his family and friends as "Wild Bill", he loved the outdoors. His favorite place to spend time was his family cottage in Michigan, however, he also enjoyed fishing and tending to his garden. "Wild Bill" also could be found sitting around a card table or playing bingo, and he was a bit of a gambling man!  

Visitation for Bill will be held Friday, June 14, 2019 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Cremation will be private.
