William Trautmann

Obituary of William Wayne Trautmann

William W. Trautmann, 59, of Fort Wayne, Indiana (formerly of Calumet Park, IL), died November 27, 2017.  He was the beloved son of the late William and Wilhelmina Trautmann. Bill is the loving brother of Amy Trautmann-LaRosa, Jeffrey Trautmann and the late Linda Trautmann. He leaves behind his devoted "fur baby" companion, Duke, a lovely white Labrador Retriever. Bill was the dear uncle of Butter (his sister's dog) and Lizzie (his brother's cat).

Bill began his career with General Motors in 1977 with Electromotive Division (Chicago, IL).  During the late 1990’s Bill transferred from EMD to the Fort Wayne Assembly plant (Fort Wayne, IN).  He retired from GM on April 1, 2009 after 31 1/2 years of service to the company. During his employment, Bill was a member of the EMD Dart Team. Bill also enjoyed fishing and camping, especially in Canada.  He was an avid player of video games, ranging from Telepong and Atari 2600 to online RPG’s, including Everquest and World of Warcraft. Bill made many friends through his online community, his closest being Leigh Ann (Manya, in game). Above all, he was a lover of animals and a true American Patriot, supporting our nations' military personnel.
