Obituary of James F. McGillivray

James F. McGillivray, Colonel US Army, retired, 86, of Crestwood, formerly of Calumet Park. He is the beloved husband of Shirley A. nee Roberts. James is the loving father of Shari (James) Bohac and the late James F. McGillivray IV and the devoted grandfather of Sarah Bohac and Thomas Bohac. James proudly served his country for forty years in Air Defense. He served in Korea from 1965 to 1967 as an advisor for the First Korean Missile Unit and also in Vietnam from 1968-1969. He was a former manager for FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency). James was a member of Calumet Lodge and Oak Lawn Lodge AF&AM and active in both the Scottish Rite and the York Rite, where he served as Treasurer of the Oak Lawn York Rite Bodies, Philalethes Society and National Sojourners. He was a life member of MOAA (Military Officers Association of America), West Suburban Chapter. James was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He became a Shriner in 1991 and served as president of SW Suburban Shrine Club in 1996, he was appointed Shriners Hospital Committee Chairman, which he has held all these years. Visitation for James will be held Friday, February 10, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, with Masonic services at 7:00 pm. Additional visitation Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 S. Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Interment Arlington National Cemetery.
