Obituary of Ruth B. Taylor

Ruth Barbara Rumrill Taylor, 96 years old. Born May 8, 1920 in Keene New Hampshire, first born of her parents, Claude and Gladys Hodge Rumrill, passed away in her Blue Island, IL home due to complications of kidney and heart failure July 31, 2016. Ruth and her husband moved to Blue Island Illinois from Keene New Hampshire in 1952. While in Blue Island Ruth managed a business with her husband for 15 years as well as raising her 4 awesome daughters, Bessie Hands (late Robert), Barbara Reich (Robert), Marsha Staley and Mary McGunnigal (Fred). She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women both in Blue Island Illinois and Ft. Ogden Florida. She was a kind, gentle, loving woman who worked hard and succeeded as only one of her stature can. At 59 Ruth and her husband retired to Florida. There they stayed for 25 years. Ruth and Charles were married for 59 years. Following her husband's death in 2001 she returned to Blue Island in 2004, after Hurricane Charlie, to be near her daughters. Ruth is survived by her 4 daughters and 1 step-daughter, Joanne Taylor Clow (Albert, late), 11 Grandchildren: Albert Jr., Paula, Wayne and Charles Clow; Christine Reich Waden (Kevin), Robert and Rodger Reich (Colleene); Kathryn Staley Ondis (Timothy); Kathleen McGunnigal, Kelly Mcgunnigal McCohen (Jonathan) and Kristine McGunnigal (Armatys) (Greg). 19 Great Grandchildren: Madeline, Duke, Donald, Denny, Deandra and Zeckariah Clow; Kamryn, Berlyn, Morgan, Taylor, Payton and Joelle Reich; Rebecca, Allison and Jared Waden; Ellen and Aaron McCohen, and her youngest sister, Joann Rumrill. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her grandson Earl Clow, great grandchildren Andrew and Abigail Waden, her sisters Marjorie Roy, Nancy Coville and her brother Robert. All whom Ruth loved --very much. There was a family gathering to celebrate Ruth's life. Interment will be private at Oak Hill Cemetery, West Swanzy, New Hampshire.
